I strong o'er them, and you o'er me being strong,
Rhythm of the Gods is an upcoming, music-driven action game from Lyrelark, a small independent game studio that was founded in 2018. It was founded by a group of NUA graduates who are based in Norwich, England. Their creation will be available for Android and Switch among other platforms on 23rd March.

It's an auto-runner and rhythm-based action game that's inspired by Ancient Greece. It will see players take control of Lyrik – I see what they've done there – who is the strongest mortal warrior. Lyrik is tasked with solving all of the problems the mortal realm is faced with.

To do so, you'll have to slide, jump and slash your way through a variety of levels in time to the music. It's the usual setup you might be familiar within this type of game where it's important to do the right action at the correct time with the music acting as an indicator to help you nail it.

The game has two modes with the Campaign taking place over four separate levels that are split into two parts. Firstly, you'll batter your way through a plethora of mythological enemies who are out to impress their Gods. Perform well enough and you'll face the Gods themselves in a battle of rhythm.

Once you've completed the Campaign there is also a Marathon Mode which is an endless version of Rhythm of the Gods that's procedurally generated. Here you'll be given a different set of moves each time to make each attempt feel fresh. Regardless of where you play, you'll be listening to original music that's been composed for the game by Nathan Fitzpatrick.

Rhythm of the Gods will be available on Google Play and the Nintendo Switch eShop on the 23rd March. You can pre-order on the latter now where the game will cost $4.99. There is currently no word on the cost of the Android version.
Looking for other new games?
You know when a game that previously wasn't on your radar grabs you by the ears, gives you a shake, and makes you feel a fool for having never heard of it? Yeah, that's what happened to me the other day with Life Gallery.

This surreal, nightmarish puzzler offers just about everything I want in a horror experience: a grisly tale, a near-unrelenting sense of unease, and plenty of hellish imagery.

I mean, just look at some of the icky stuff that Taiwanese studio 751 Games has dreamt up. You've got gross fish, creepy moth-men, skinned cyclops babies, and children eating enlarged human organs. Lovely, right?
Chaos City Girls(beta)

Alright, it may not be pressing news but with all of the negativity and seriousness, it's always nice to see something silly now and again. For Nintendo, they've answered a farmer's challenge and they're headed to a milking competition in Vermont.

Billings Farm & Museum called out via social media (and letter) last week. After one of their employees tried 1-2-Switch's milking game and found it unimpressive, the museum decided to pit the folks over at Nintendo against the established milkers to see who can come out on top.

Eventually Nintendo replied back to them via their Facebook post with a Barney Stinson-like "Challenge accepted". The post then continued with a few back-and-forths of friendly banter, before Billings Farm shot out with cocky, "Good luck! We've been at this for over 100 years." By which Ninty replied with "So have we!"

Ooo, so much sass.

According to Polygon, sources say that Nintendo have legitimately accepted the challenge and are aiming to fly up sometime in the next week. We'll definitely keep you posted when we know more.

THE POMEGRANATE and Apple-Tree disputed as to which was the most beautiful. When their strife was at its height, a Bramble from the neighboring hedge lifted up its voice, and said in a boastful tone: "Pray, my dear friends, in my presence at least cease from such vain disputings."

As we march ever closer to the inevitable future where every video game is Warhammer 40,000, gamebook expert Tin Man Games has announced a trilogy of Warhammer-themed choose-your-own-adventure novels.

The first, Legacy of Dorn: Herald of Oblivion (a digital adaptation of the Warhammer 40,000 Path To Victory gamebook of the same name), will hit iOS and Android in September.

As usual, things have been spruced up for this digital remake. The paper book is now an Imperial Cogitator computer terminal. And the dice combat is scrapped in favour of first- person, turn-based brawls.

The story makes you a veteran Space Marine of the Imperial Fists Chapter. Which sounds fun, until you learn that you're trapped aboard a space hulk, the only survivor of your squad, and surrounded by alien nasties.

This is part one of a Legacy of Dorn Trilogy. Sequels Pits of Commorragh and Forge of War are due for release in 2016. We'll let you know when Herald of Oblivion hits the app stores.

Riot has released the final developer diary of the year for League of Legends: Wild Rift. "I wonder why people so commonly suppose that if two individuals are both writers they must therefore be hugely congenial," said Anne, rather scornfully. "Nobody would expect two blacksmiths to be violently attracted toward each other merely because they were both blacksmiths."
